Digital Factor und Biomekkanik LIVE

Vom 18.- 20. März 2011 lassen die sympathischen Schweden, Biomekkanik, zusammen mit Digital Factor aus Altenburg die Republik beben. Elias Matt & (the) Rescue Mission – „Wer mit Rauschmitteln arbeitet, der fliegt!“

Sie nennen es nicht Konzert und nicht Record-Release-Party. Für die Retro-Elektro-Musikgruppe Elias Matt & (the) Rescue Mission ist es die „I. Achtung! Alpha-Bühnenschau“ und sie starten damit die erste Bühnenaktivität zu ihrer Album-Veröffentlichung.

Wer im letzten Jahr zu den wenigen Auserwählten zählte, die Elias Matt & (the) Rescue Mission bei ihrer kurzen Bühnenpremiere erleben konnten, war sich nicht sicher, ob Elias Matt kurz vor einem epileptischen Anfall stand oder ob Sängerin Stefanie wirklich frei von jeglichen Drogen ist. Aber Elias Matt versichert: „Am Tag einer Bühnenschau gibt es nur Mineralwasser, Schorle und leichte Kost. Wer mit Rauschmitteln arbeitet, der fliegt!“

Am Donnerstag, den 10. Februar, am Vorabend der Veröffentlichung von „Achtung! Alpha“ gibt es in Berlin die „I. Achtung! Alpha-Bühnenschau“. Eine theatralische Schau von Elias Matt & (the) Rescue Mission voller Manieriertheit und Extravaganz im intimen Rahmen der Kultstätte der früheren, legendären Dark Friday-Nächte „Die Insel“, sowie die Premiere der bereits angekündigten „Propagandarede“ …

Elias Matt & (the) Rescue Mission – „Who is caught using drugs, will be sacked!”

Neither they call it a live-gig nor a record release party. Retro-electro band Elias Matt & (the) Rescue Mission name it  “First Achtung! Alpha – Stageshow” (I. Achtung! Alpha – Bühnenschau) and start their first live activities to promote their album release.

The selected audience of their last year’s show live premiers have never been sure whether Elias Matt was in a preepileptic state or not and vocalist Stefanie never seemed to be off drugs. But Elias Matt reassures: “On the day of the stage show we will only have some tab water, lemonades and diet food. Who is caught using drugs, will be sacked immediately!”

On Thursday, February 10, the advent of the “Achtung! Alpha” release, Berlin will be the host of the “First Achtung! Alpha – Stageshow”. A theatralic event of Elias Matt & (the) Rescue Mission in perfect extravaganza and manic exaggeration in an intimate atmosphere at the cult-location of legendary Dark Friday nights: “Die Insel”. Additionally, it will see the premier of the highly anticipated “Propagandarede” (propaganda speech).

BRILLIG GIGS – NOVEMBER 2010

Brillig Double CD Launch with Dandelion Wine in Melbourne

Dandelion Wine and Adelaide’s Brillig join forces for the official Melbourne launch of two critically acclaimed new albums from Germany’s Black Rain records in a special co-headline double bill at the Toff on Sunday 14th November.

After over a year of living, touring and recording in Europe, Dandelion Wine return to Melbourne to launch their latest album “All Becompassed By Stars”. Recorded in a freezing Berlin winter, the album takes their trademark use of exotic string instruments such as dulcimer and bell cittern and adds dense layers of middle eastern percussion and upsizes the beats until they’re big enough to rearrange your neural pathways.

Joining them on the night will be labelmates Brillig (SA), who will be launching a brand new collection of vintage melancholia, murder ballads and sea shanties entitled “The Red Coats”. Not to be shown up in the instrumental department, Brillig will take to the stage with autoharp, viola, uke, accordion, banjo and harmonica adding to their rich guitar and bass tapestries.

Both albums were released in Europe to critical acclaim earlier this year on the German label Black Rain and are only just now seeing the light of day in Australia.

In case you were wondering, Brillig had an *amazing* time in New Zealand for their mini-tour! Many thanks to all the kind hosts, hostesses, new fans and friends for their warm welcome. We’re sorting over the stack of photos as we speak, and will compile some of the best for an upcoming end-of-year newsletter. At left is a pic by Wellington Folk Festival organiser, Gerard Hudson, of Brillig’s set in the final concert, mainstage.

In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled (ewwwww…) for news on Brillig’s *new film clip* for sea shanty “The Old Captain.” It’s launch is fast approaching (see below), and we’ll be giving you a behind the scenes and preview look at some of the shenanigans shortly.

LUSTMORD live in Berlin!

Was für eine Sensation! Zwar kursierten schon 1990 unter der Hand Informationen über einige geplante Lustmord-Livetermine (gemeinsam mit Nocturnal Emissions), doch ebenso wie eine zeitnah angedachte Coil/Greater Than One-Tour versandeten die Planungen im Nichts und übrig blieben einige Whitehouse-Konzerte sowie die Current 93/Death In June/Sol Invictus-Mini-Tour.

Doch nun ist es soweit: im Rahmen seines Europa-Besuchs beim polnischen Unsound-Festival für kontemporäre elektronische Musik, macht Brian Williams auch in Berlin halt, um das legendäre BERGHAIN zu bespielen.

Achtung! Entgegen anderslautender Angaben sowohl auf den Tickets, beim Konzertvorverkaufsbüro, wie auch im Lustmord-Forum findet das Konzert NICHT in der Panorana-Bar im Obergeschoss statt, sondern in der großen Halle des BERGHAIN – schließlich war die dort installierte berühmt-berüchtigte Funktion-One-PA zu einem großen Teil ausschlaggebend für B. Williams’ Entscheidung für ein Berlin-Gastspiel!

Momentan ist jede freie Minute im Lustmord-eigenen Vaultworks-Studio für die Komposition der abstrakt-hypnotischen Video-Backdrops reserviert (in die unter anderem Arbeiten des rennomierten britischen Regisseurs Dominic Hailstone einfließen werden) und eine Ahnung dessen, was musikalisch am 27. Oktober zu erwarten ist, bekamen geneigte Hörer bereits auf der CD ‘Rising’, live augenommen im Center for Inquiry, Los Angeles anlässlich des 40-jährigen Bestehens der ‘Church of Satan’ – ein augenzwinkernder Zug des Nonkonformisten Williams, der persönlich jegliche Art von Konfession, Religion und Kult ablehnt.

Dass das Berghain vornehmlich ein Technoclub ist, sollte Experimental/Noise-Puristen keineswegs abschrecken: das Konzert wird nicht (in Anlehnung an den Veranstaltungsort) Kompositionen in Richtung rhythmus-orientierter Lustmordwerke wie ‘Law Of The Battle Of Conquest’ oder ‘Other Dub’ bieten, sondern Pure Experimental Ambience und Dark Space Music!

Brillig Headline Coopers Alive’s Acoustic Showcase

This is a big one, folks!! Acoustic music’s very own showcase in the massive Coopers Alive festival, featuring hand-picked bands.

Our stellar lineup includes buzz act The Timbers & captivating troubadour Self Preservation Society, and we’ve all decided on calling the show ‘Silence can be like Thunder’.

That’s a line from a Bob Dylan song called ‘Lovesick’, and we each felt that this particular phrase really related to own musical styles in different ways.
The ‘silence’ in particular is appreciated by Brillig’s vocalist/guitarist Matt Swayne: “With a quiet audience, we love using silence in our music. It can make a lyric seem to float in the air endlessly.”

With each interpreting the title in a slightly different manner, it should make for a great night… In fact, WOMAD have signed on as one of the evening’s sponsors, and are providing 2 double passes to WOMAD’s Friday night festivities as a prize. All ticketholders to ‘Silence can be like Thunder’ will be in the running to win!
Prize winners will be drawn at the end of the night, right after the full lineup performs a special ‘all-in’ rousing version of ‘Lovesick’, so stick around!

Over the years they have dedicated themselves to develop a sound they define as Pop-Theatre. Plastic Noise Experience Live im Zwischenfall Bochum

Anfang der frühen 90er ist Plastic Noise Experience mit Ihrem Debüt Album „Transmission“ schlagartig an die Spitze der deutschen dark electro Szene geschossen, neben Bands wie Project Pitchfork, Das Ich, The Eternal Afflict und Calva Y Nada. Mit weiteren Veröffentlichungen wie „Visage De Plastique“, „Transmitted Memories“, „Strings of Ice“ und „Rauschen“ haben Plastic Noise Experience die Tanzflächen in der ganzen Welt gefüllt und so starteten Sie damals eine intensive Tour quer durch Europa.

Mit ihren Hits wie „Gold“, „Smalltown Boy“ und „Kill the 6“ haben Plastic Noise Experience schon damals bewiesen, dass sie dem Oldschool EBM treu sind, und dies hat sich bis heute fortgesetzt. Einen gewissen Seltenheitswert gibt es bei den Live Auftritten von Plastic Noise Experience, denn die alten Herren stehen nur selten auf der Bühne.

Daher lasst es euch nicht nehmen, am 22. Oktober 2010 im Zwischenfall in Bochum die alten Hasen der Szene noch einmal „Live on stage“ zu erleben und eine „Best Of Show“ von Plastic Noise Experience ist euch garantiert! Um den Abend musikalisch noch abzurunden, wird kein geringerer als DJ Lazer Stefan (Spetznaz) zusammen mit DJane Infantriene (SEBooking) die After Show Party rocken um euch weitere rare Sahnetörtchen aus Stilen wie Oldschool EBM, Electro, NDW, 80er und Industrial mal wieder unter die Ohren zu reiben.
